Welcome to my website where I can share with you my devotion to gathering outdoor images over the last twenty years.

My dad bought me my first camera (Brownie) when I was seven years old and turned me on to photography and the magic of the darkroom. I continued my photography through high school, and into college. At California State University Sacramento, I became acquainted with Professor Ralph Talbert and his teaching assistant Merl Wosniak who introduced me to the techniques for creating fine art black and white photography. As a result of the mentorship of Louis Goldich (at the time, Registrar for the San Diego Museum of Art), my work was exhibited at a one man show at UC Davis in 1976, and two of my pieces were selected to be exhibited at the international art show, "Victoria Collects" held at

the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria (Canada) and were displayed alongside pieces by Pablo Picasso, Winslow Homer and Mel Ramos among others.

As time moved on I devoted my energy to a career in marketing and wholesale distribution in the fly fishing tackle industry, but in 2008 I again picked up the camera and began taking outdoor images to accompany my many articles that I was writing for Fly Fishing, Outdoor and Lifestyle magazines. That segued into providing stand alone images for magazine covers (see homepage) and photo essays. My work has appeared in Northwest Fly Fishing magazine, Southwest Fly Fishing magazine, American Fly Fishing magazine, Gray's Sporting Journal, American Angler, Flyfisherman magazine, Sierra Heritage, Hot Rod Journal, Flyfishing & Tying Journal, Salmon Trout & Steelheader, Steelheaders Journal, Outdoor California , American Fly Fishing, Fly Rod & Reel and The Drake magazine. I also authored the book "Flyfisher's Guide to California" which is currently a best seller in Western USA fly shops and retail book stores. Today I continue to express myself through the words and images inspired by the outdoors.
